Taking Care of Toys

Germs can pass on toys from dirty hands from splashing of body fluids by mouth or when children put them in the mouth. Ideally, you should decontaminate toys before you use them to your child if they are soiled with body fluids, or if a child with a transmissible infection have used them.

* Make sure the toys you buy are safe and can be cleaned. Check the manufacturer’s instructions.
* Regularly check toys rough surfaces and broken pieces and throw away any damaged game.
* Toys dirty can be washed in hot water and detergent, then rinsed and dried. The hard toys that you can not easily wash should be decontaminated using a suitable disinfectant, rinsed well and dried.
* All hard toys that are contaminated with body fluids or after use by a child with a transmissible infection should also be cleaned and then disinfected as described above.
* The soft toy (eg teddy bears) can usually be washed in a washing machine. Be sure to follow the manufacturer’s instructions. If you can not wash them, throw it out.
* The soft toys are contaminated with body fluids or have been used by a child with an infection transmissible to be thrown away if they can not be washed at temperatures high enough to kill germs (at least 60 °)
* Remove immediately any sketch of body fluid and clean and disinfect any surface or object contaminated
* Do not make that pets share the toys of your child or pollute the playgrounds or sandboxes
